Kudos Laboratories is healthcare unit with over 100 years of experience in the field of Ayurveda and herbal treatment. The range of formulations at KUDOS is an inherited legacy from the forefathers who were pioneers of ayurvedic knowledge and practices.

Hakim Shri Nand Singh was one among the many migrants in 1947. Leaving behind a flourishing practice in Ayurveda in Pakistan, Hakim Shri Nand Singh decided to restart life in a rundown shop in Karol Bagh. But with age catching up, Hakim decided to pass on the baton to his son Hakim Shri Hakim Rai.

A specialist in reading the pulse, Hakim Rai went on to acquire a clientele that read like who’s who of India. Apart from treating Presidents of India and their wives, to business tycoons, Hakim Rai also continued to treat the masses from 7:30 A.M. to 10 in night in his father’s shop.

Till 1974, the year Hakim Rai died, he had not hiked his consultancy charges. They continued to be Re. 1. “ If my patient comes back to me with the same problem, what use is that money,” he would espouse.

All along, in the background meticulously measuring the rattis and pounding the herbs was Hakim Rai’s son, G. C. Goomar. A graduate, Goomar nurtured no big plans to gather professional degrees like his other four brothers.
With hands-on-experience in handling Ayurvedic drugs, Goomar was his father’s right hand man and handled the manufacturing unit with great competence.

After his father’s death, Goomar continued with the manufacturing of formulations founded by his father.
While two of his brothers went on to establish flourishing medicine practices in the U.S. and other two became engineers, Goomar continued to study the yellowing notes of his father and grandfather.

It was during this research that Goomar came across many a formulation with far reaching effects. “I discussed these formulations with my elder brother, who confirmed their outstanding properties,” says 60-year old Goomar.

“Soon I started research on these formulations in our manufacturing unit. The result was dramatic as I realized I had some new discoveries on my hands,” he claims.

After following the rules and regulations governing the pharma industry, Goomar formally launched the production of a unique drug which would not only cure heart ailment but also help avoid the tortuous and costly by pass surgery.
Calling it the Arjuteb Powder, Goomar claims that with this inexpensive drug heart patients with blocked arteries can get rid of physical, mental and financial tension.

“What is striking about our drug is that in just about 6 month’s time, it can clear blocked arteries, costing just about Rs. 7000 against a couple of lakhs spent on bypass surgery. What more the drug can be taken by people of all age groups as a preventive measure to avoid recurrence of blockages after bypass surgery, and the best part is that our medicine can be taken simultaneously with allopathic medicines”, he explains.

His lab, which also offers unique formulations for treatment of bronchial asthma, diabetes, rheumatic arthritis, weight loss etc., is now working on the development of a wonder drug  for AIDS.

“ I came across an interesting formulation in one of my father’s books and a senior professor confirmed it had all the ingredients being  used in AIDS research. I am working on the formulation,” he adds.

But lack of support from different quarters is causing delay in the research of this medicine, he laments. No massive publicity stunts are being employed by this man. “Word by mouth is enough for me,” he says. The drug will find its clients, he is confident and for Goomar the research continues.   

Kudos laboratories is Carrying forward this legacy and marketing these formulations through retail chains and providing Ayurvedic consultation and counseling to the masses through Ayurvedic Physicians. The determined efforts are bound to revive the faith of the people in Ayurveda and bring back the glory of Ayurveda which undisputedly is the oldest knowledge relating to use of natural products for health care.
